“I was happy as a nurse in the emergency department, where every day brought new challenges, but I knew the long hours and the toll of 12-hour shifts couldn’t last forever. I needed to make a change.”

“I went back to school, completing my master’s in nursing with an emphasis in education. At the same time, I became deeply involved in our hospital’s shared governance, sitting on the ED council and even chairing a house-wide council. I was eager to make an impact, but little did I know, this was the beginning of a whole new chapter.”
